The familiar adage, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink, ...unless of course, you salt the hay!" exemplifies the approach Rae Niles, Curriculum Director/Technology for Sedgwick Public Schools, USD 439, for the past six years, has applied to technology integration in her school district. Recognizing that computers alone do not improve student learning, Rae has worked with the teachers of Sedgwick to ntegrate technology throughout the K-12 curriculum. Her positive leadership style, coupled with her "get it done" approach, have helped Sedgwick become a recognized leader among school districts in Kansas. In addition to her leadership with the TAKE team at the Kansas State Department of Education, Rae served as the team lead at the Apple Teacher Institute this summer at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C.
